JULIET ROMEO
CEO
Juliet Romeo, a filmmaker originally from Trinidad but raised in New York and now residing in Miami, has earned widespread recognition for her contributions to the film industry. As an Afro-Caribbean woman with disabilities, she wears multiple hats as a writer, director, executive producer, and disability advocate. Juliet is deeply committed to breaking down stereotypes in entertainment by creating inclusive and accessible environments on set, while also advocating for diverse storytelling. In addition to her filmmaking pursuits, Juliet is the founder of Slamdance Unstoppable, a film program housed within a prestigious Film Festival acknowledged by the Academy Awards and BAFTA. Through this initiative, she champions films featuring disabled talent and filmmakers, garnering support from major companies like Hulu, Google, Lumix, and AGBO. Beyond her work in cinema, Juliet's impact extends to society at large as a disability advocate and public speaker, particularly raising awareness for sickle cell disease. Recently, she played a pivotal role in passing a Healthcare Bill and participated in the Sickle Cell Policy Forum in the capital. Juliet's portfolio encompasses a diverse range of documentaries and narratives, which have been showcased on platforms such as PBS, Delta Airlines In-Flight services, and Shudder Streaming service. Her contributions have been acknowledged by esteemed organizations like the Sickle Cell Association of America.
